Background

In the year 2000, the City of New Haven, Yale University and the local business community joined forces to establish Market New Haven, Inc. (MNHI) – the city’s first destination marketing organization.

For nearly two decades, MNHI remains the sole organization that continually works to promote New Haven’s vibrant lifestyle and leisure attributes, branding it as a great place to visit, live and work.

Our work has been widely recognized as an important catalyst for re-energizing the city, establishing a foundation for continued growth and economic development, driving downtown visitation, and fostering deep local pride among our residents.

Market New Haven, Inc. (MNHI) is a public/private partnership among the City of New Haven, Yale University, Yale New Haven Health and the local business community.

What We Do

MNHI supports jobs and taxes in New Haven through the promotion of the City’s thriving dining, shopping, entertainment and events scene. MNHI’s comprehensive marketing and communications strategy is designed to drive visitation to generate economic activity.

 New Haven’s tagline positions the city as the ultimate destination for a wide range of experiences, activities and opportunities.

MNHI’s awareness campaign targets consumers within a 50-mile radius. Paid advertising includes a mix of radio, out of home, digital, print, broadcast and grassroots.

MNHI creates content for and manages  INFONewHaven.com, the city’s official destination website. The site is a collaboration with Town Green District.

Social Media

MNHI creates content for and manages the INFO New Haven social media channels on Facebook, instagram and Twitter.

E-newsletter

MNHI creates content for and distributes the monthly INFO New Haven e-newsletter, highlighting happenings throughout the city.

 

New Haven Restaurant Week

MNHI collaborates with restaurants from across the city to produce the bi-annual dining promotion.
